Dr Stuart Reader

Dr Reader has now been serving the north side of Brisbane for the past thirty years. His particular interests are in general ophthalmology, medical retinal diseases, and aviation medicine.
Dr Reader studied medicine at Flinders University of South Australia, graduating in 1985. After a number of years as a RAAF medical officer, he completed training as a commercial pilot and worked in general aviation. Following this he undertook a postgraduate fellowship in aviation medicine, in which he has an ongoing interest. He completed his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital and in Plymouth, United Kingdom. Upon returning from overseas, Dr Reader worked as a general ophthalmologist in Sydney before relocating to Queensland.
Dr Reader is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) and the Australian Society of Aerospace Medicine. He regularly attends both national and international conferences, as well as giving regular clinical updates to Optometrists and General Practitioners.
